If you want to partecipate posting your photos, you have to be a Flickr user. If you’re not and want to become one, you can go on Flickr and sign in. There you’ll found the biggest photo community of the entire web.
After your registration, or if you are already a member, you can reach our group at the url http://www.flickr.com/groups/flickr-sos-project. You must become a member of the group, but the membership is free and opened to all Flickr users, and it’s very simple: just click to the appropriate link you’ll find on the group page (in the right-up angle of the description page).
Have you done it? Ok, now you can start adding your photos to the group. Please take a look at the Flickr help and FAQ if you don’t know how to do this.
What kind of photos you can post? Everything, especially that ones which have a subject expressing umanity and solidarity. Human faces, B&W, Landscapes, Artistical composition, Portraits, People… everything is allowed. There’s just one restriction: no porn, of course! This is an artistical group, not a place to post stupid images!
Remember your photos may be published on a book, which has a no-profit purpose. So, don’t post photos with copyright problems and/or restriction, or photos you don’t want to be published on the book. You have to accept this unique rule when you post a photo.
You can collaborate in other ways too. We need your help to make this project work. So please, invite your friends and contacts to partecipate to the group. Let the people know about Flickr SOS Project, noising about the address of this website (http://flickrsosproject.wordpress.com) or the url of the group www.flickr.com/groups/flickr-sos-project/
We also created a little phrase you can copy and paste in comments of photos you like. This way, you can let Flickr users know about the project and encourage them to take part to it. This is the phrase, simply copy and paste it in a comment when you find a photo in Flickr that you like, or in a message you send to other users (such as contacts or friends):
Hi! I’m a member of a group called Flickr SOS Project, which has the wonderful intent to publish a book with flickr photos and raise funds for charity with the selling of it. I think your photo would be perfect for the spirit of the group! Visit it to become a member and then post your photos! Please, read the description and the rules. All the infos about the project are at this website: http://flickrsosproject.wordpress.com
Make the project possible, post a photo. It will cost nothing, but it can say a lot!
