Ho interessanti news relative al Flickr SOS Project!

Qualche giorno fa mi è stato proposto di partecipare ad una tavola rotonda durante la manifestazione “Quo vadis Flickr?” che si terrà a Bibbiena (Ar) sabato 13 e domenica 14 Dicembre. Si tratta di una due giorni flickeriana, organizzata in collaborazione con La Sapienza di Roma e CIFA (Centro Italiano Fotografia d’Autore) in cui verranno presentati i risultati di uno studio italiano condotto sulla piattaforma Flickr ed il Web 2.0. Ero stato invitato per presentare, durante un dibattimento aperto agli utenti, il Flickr SOS Project e le iniziative realizzate durante quest’anno. La cosa sarebbe stata interessantissima ed avrebbe potuto in qualche modo far conoscere ad un pubblico più vasto il progetto che insieme abbiamo portato avanti in questi mesi. Purtroppo per ragioni personali non potrò essere fisicamente lì, ma gli organizzatori mi hanno comunque dato la possibilità di spedire un video di presentazione che poi, a quanto mi hanno detto, verrà proiettato durante il dibattimento.
Detto fatto, ho registrato un video di circa 7 minuti in cui provo a spiegare lo spirito del nostro gruppo e le cose che abbiamof atto finora (e soprattutto cerco di non essere noioso, e spero di esserci riuscito ). Mi sembra giusto rendere pubblico questo video, in modo che anche voi possiate darci un’occhiata e farmi sapere che ve ne pare.

Non ho la certezza che si riesca davvero a proiettare il video durante la manifestazione, ma io spero vivamente di sì e spero che serva a diffondere il progetto!

* printed copy (€21+expedition costs)

For every copy, I’ll entirely devolve the earnings which are:

The rest belongs to lulu.com and it’s the cost for production and commission. Note that lulu.com is not related to me in any way and that I have no control about the costs of producation or expedition.

1) Il libro è acquistabile tramite il sito di publish-on-demand “Lulu”.

2) Potete ordinare il libro in versione stampata (21€+spese spedizione) oppure in versione ebook (5€ e download immediato del pdf).
Una volta effettuato l’ordine, lulu provvederà a stampare e a spedire il libro (nel caso di acquisto cartaceo) oppure vi fornirà il link per il download dell’ebook.

4) Alla fine di ogni mese, i guadagni accumulati saranno disponibili e verranno quindi devoluti in beneficenza. Apro anche un altro thread per decidere insieme a quale associazione devolverli. Guardate tra i topic.

Sarà mia cura aggiornare continuamente sul sito le informazioni sulla cifra accumulata, in modo da continuare a mantenere la trasparenza sul progetto e giustamente far sì che non ci siano dubbi relativi alal destinazione dei soldi accumulati.

Vi ricordo che non avete nessun obbligo di acquisto, nemmeno se avete partecipato al progetto.

Tutti possono acquistare il libro, anzi se avete amici spargete la voce. Purtroppo so che la versione cartacea ha un costo elevato, ma vi assicuro che ne vale la pena! Anzi, cerco di fare qualche foto alla mia copia (arrivata fresca fresca stamattina) per darvi un’idea del prodotto.
Se la copia cartacea è comunque troppo costosa, considerate almeno l’idea di acquistare l’ebook, se non altro per donare almeno 4 euro!

Infine vi ricordo che esiste una versione sfogliabile online del libro (il link è in un thread apposito) e quindi se avete dubbi guardate quella per vedere com’è il prodotto finito.

Now I decided to reopen posting on this group, with a new theme for the photos: “Forgotten places”.

The idea is to create a section of the website (and, maybe in future, a special printed issue, why not?) with reportages written by users of travels and visits in “forgotten places”.

What does it means “forgotten places”? They are places in which time seems to have stopped years ago, they are decadent, poor. They can be war places, destroyed one, lonely places, and so on…
For example, have you been in Africa, in any poor village? Or in poor cities of South America? Or in Sarajevo, after the conflicts? Have you taken a photo of Brazilian Favelas?
Every place which seems to belongs to the so-called “third world” it’s ok for this topic.

It would be better if your photo comes with a short story, or a comment about the place, or a reportage of your travel.

Best photos will be chosen and published in this special section of the website. So, if you post a photo, you accept this rule.
And, as always, don’t mind the copyright: you’ll remain the owner of it now and forever.

You can post a maximum of 2 photos/day.

Le votazioni sono terminate il 30 Aprile.

Ora inizierà la fase di produzione del libro con le immagini vincenti.

Per prima cosa, i vincitori (=coloro che hanno ricevuto più voti come da regolamento) saranno contattati via FlickrMail e sarà richiesto loro di compilare un form che garantisca la corretta attribuzione delle immagini ed eviti problemi di copyright. I vincitori dovranno compilare necessariamente il form, altrimenti la loro immagine non potrà essere pubblicata. Nel form saranno richiesti:
* nome e cognome (verrà pubblicato sul libro)
* data di nascita
* luogo di nascita
* flickr username
* indirizzo flickr (verrà pubblicato sul libro)
* email
Sarà inoltre richiesto di accettare la pubblicazione sul libro e di garantire che si detengono tutti i diritti per l’immagine inviata.

Ad esclusione delle voci esplicitamente indicate, le altre informazioni verranno mantenute confidenziali e trattenute esclusivamente per ragioni burocratiche, in linea con la vigente legge sulla privacy.

Il copyright delle immagini rimarrà di completo possesso dei fotografi, che forniranno il solo consenso per la pubblicazione sul libro del Flickr SOS Project, poi venduto senza scopo di lucro e con esclusivi fini di beneficenza.

Se un vincitore non dovesse accettare queste regole, verrà escluso dalla pubblicazione e sarà selezionata la prima immagine esclusa con il più alto numero di voti acquisiti.

Se un vincitore dovesse avere più foto vincenti, come da regolamento già indicato sarà facoltà dei moderatori scegliere in maniera del tutto arbitraria una sola immagine da pubblicare: questo per garantire che il più elevato numero di utenti diversi possa avere un’immagine pubblicata.

Una volta che tutti i vincitori avranno dato il consenso, le immagini finaliste saranno visionabili sul sito e contemporaneamente inizierà la pubblicazione. A libro ultimato, verranno indicate le informazioni per l’acquisto.
Inoltre ci sarà una successiva fase in cui tutti gli utenti potranno scegliere votando a quale associazione inviare i proventi (scegliendo tra un pool di associazioni possibili).

Tutte le informazioni arriveranno presto.

Stimo che il libro sarà pronto per giugno/luglio. La sua vendita comunque poi continuerà ad oltranza, senza possibilità di esaurimento scorte.

Now we can star with the publishing of the book.

Winners (=users who have received the greatest number of votes) will be contacted via flickrMail and must fill  form to guarantee the correct attribution of rights and to avoid copyright problems. Winners must necessarily compile that form, or their image will not be published. In the form, they must provide:
* name and surname (will be published on the book)
* place of birth
* date of birth
* flickr username
* flickr address (will be published)
They will also accept the publishing, and gurantee that they own the rights of the image.

Excluding where indicated, other voices will be threated confidentially, according with the current italian privacy law.

Copyright of the image published will remain a property of the photographer, who will concess only the publishing on the flickr sos project book, then sold through internet and with a charity purpose.

If a winner won’t accept these rules, it will be excluded and another image with a sufficient number of votes will be selected.

If one user, at the ond of voting, has a great numbers of photos selected to be published, the moderators have the faculty of choosing one photo only to be published (and what photo). This is necessary  to make possible that the greatest number of different users could have a photo on the book.

After all the winners have given their consent, finalist images will be indicated on the website and will be published on the book.
There will be another phase in which users will be able to choose organizations which give money to.

All the news and informations will be indicated on the website.

The book will be ready probably on june/july 2008.
