The idea is simple: we want to collect the best photos of Flickr members to create a book. Then, we want to sell that book through Internet to raise funds and distribute them to a charity association.

Flickr is a powerful website. It contains images of an extraordinary beauty, taken from photographer all over the world. The intent of the project is to put together wonderful shots and publish them on a real, professional book. This gives the possibility to spread the incredible genius of those photographers, and at the same time enables the fund-raising.

To create a point of contact between Flickr members, allowing them to share their photos, we opened a Flickr group. There, members can post their photos and see the other’s ones. After a certain period of time, the best shots will be choosen and then used to compose the book, which will be then sell through Internet, thanks to the website Lulu.com

Lulu.com gives you the possibility to print your own books in a professional way, and then to sell them through its marketplace. Lulu prints and sends the book only when a client buy it, so there are no basic costs of creation. The user can choose how much earn with the selling of a copy. The website attends about the selling and expedition, and simply retain a part of the money for manufacture. The other part will be used by Flickr SOS Project to reach its aim: it will be given away to charity associations.
